Day to day:
The role involves implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as developed by the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and collaborating with teachers to schedule students for therapy sessions. You will plan and provide services to students with various speech and language impairments under the SLP's direction, maintain detailed records of therapy sessions, and contribute to assessments for upcoming IEPs. Additionally, you will create instructional materials tailored for SLP students, work alongside the SLP and other IEP team members to deliver integrated services, and attend evaluation, multidisciplinary team (MDT), and IEP meetings as appropriate. Support for classroom teachers will be provided to facilitate the application of speech and language skills beyond therapy sessions, and you will screen students for potential evaluations of their speech and language skills as directed by the SLP. Participation in SLP staff meetings is expected, along with the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must Haves:
· Bachelors degree in Speech and Language
· Certified SLP licensed in Washington state
· Knowledge of ASHA guidelines for SLP staff
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong time management skills
· Ability to work with students of all ages
Plusses:
· Experience working with students with speech and language impairments
· Bilingual in English and Spanish
