Your Role: Fostering Communication and Growth
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you'll play a vital role in supporting students' communication development. You'll conduct evaluations, create individualized therapy plans, and work closely with educators and families to help students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualized Therapy: Provide speech and language therapy to students based on their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Classroom Integration: Work with classroom staff to integrate therapy into the educational setting, fostering practical communication skills.
Small Group and Individual Sessions: Plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities tailored to students' specific needs and goals.
IEP Collaboration: Participate in data reviews, pre-IEP, and IEP meetings, contributing to the development of effective communication goals.
Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct thorough evaluations, including trials for communicative devices and social communication assessments.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data, write reports, and document student progress to inform therapy and educational plans.
What We're Looking For:
Pennsylvania Certification: Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification in Speech Instruction or Speech Communication.
Pennsylvania License: Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
ASHA Certification: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certification (CCC).
Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY): Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are also considered.
Experience with Autism: Experience working with verbal and nonverbal students (ages 3-21) with Autism, Emotional Support, and Life Skills Support needs.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of principles, techniques, and equipment, including low to high technology AAC devices.
Diagnostic Expertise: Knowledge of current diagnostic and assessment tools for students with speech/language impairments.
Professional Development: Commitment to maintaining professional competence through continuing education.
Human Service Experience: Non-profit human service experience is highly preferred.
Skills Required:
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of speech/language disorders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, clinicians, and families.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
