Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director of Identity and Belonging, the Director of the Glover Alston Intercultural Center (GAIC) will oversee programs fostering intercultural competence, social justice, and community belonging among students, with particular focus on marginalized groups. The role involves program development, community engagement, supervision, and collaboration across campus.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Identity and Belonging (60%)

• Manage GAIC operations and resources, including food pantry, clothing closet, and textbook library.
• Develop and assess programming to support minoritized student communities.
• Partner with campus and community organizations for events and recruitment activities.
• Assist students in accessing campus resources for academic and personal support.
• Recruit and supervise student staff, promoting cultural humility and pluralism.
• Support student leadership and affinity groups in DEIA initiatives.

1. Management (15%)

• Supervise and mentor student employees.
• Manage budget and resources for GAIC operations.
• Coordinate marketing and outreach efforts.
• Advise on college policies relevant to students.

1. Leadership and Professional Development (10%)

• Participate in college committees promoting inclusive excellence.
• Build relationships with colleagues to advance DEIA initiatives.
