Job Description

COMC is looking to hire a Controller at our Redmond, WA location. The Controller will be a key leader in the Finance department, reporting to the CFO, and responsible for overseeing the accounting team, accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls in both the US and Canada. The ideal candidate has previous experience as a Controller in a growing company, leading system implementations, navigating audit processes, managing a high-performing accounting team, and handling cross-border operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Implement, improve, and optimize financial systems, ERP, processes, and internal controls to support scalability and accuracy.
  • Oversee the financial close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to senior management.
  • Lead the company through annual audits, preparing required documentation, and coordinating audit processes to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop financial strategies and provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and relevant statutory requirements in the U.S, Canada and other countries as we grow.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee Canadian operations, ensuring that financial processes, reporting, and regulatory requirements are aligned with both U.S. and Canadian standards.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as a Controller or senior finance leader.
  • Proven experience managing and developing a team in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Hands-on experience with system/ERP implementations and optimizing financial systems.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading a company through financial audits, including preparation and collaboration with auditors.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, compliance, and tax regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving company is a plus.
  • Experience managing cross-border operations, particularly between the U.S. and Canada is a plus.

Opportunity for Remote work – Hybrid. 2 to 3 days per week working on-site.
