Fast-forward from its start as a homegrown family business, House of Spices has become a middle-market wholesale/manufacturer which includes multiple distribution networks across the country. Although the business has and continues to expand rapidly, the brand is still family-owned and home-based out of the NYC metro area. About the Role:

The Accounts Receivable Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our organization within the transportation and warehousing industry. This position is responsible for overseeing the collection of outstanding invoices, managing customer accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. The manager will implement effective credit control measures to minimize bad debts while fostering strong relationships with clients. Additionally, this role involves analyzing accounts receivable data to identify trends and areas for improvement, ultimately contributing to the company's cash flow and profitability. The successful candidate will lead a team, providing guidance and support to ensure that all accounts are managed efficiently and effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or financial management.
• Proven experience in managing a team and leading financial processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the transportation and warehousing industry.
• Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounts receivable staff, providing training and support as needed.
• Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize financial risk.
• Analyze accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure prompt payment.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve billing discrepancies and improve customer satisfaction.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong analytical abilities, which are essential for reviewing accounts receivable data and identifying trends. Excellent communication skills are necessary for effectively interacting with clients and team members to resolve issues and foster relationships. Leadership skills are crucial for managing and motivating the accounts receivable team to achieve departmental goals. Proficiency in accounting software will be utilized daily to streamline invoicing and reporting processes. Additionally, problem-solving skills will be employed to address any discrepancies or challenges that arise in the accounts receivable process.
